Members of the Corvallis Art Guild are invited to help us with our planning for next fiscal year by completing and returning the survey form that is included in the July newsletter and on this web site under the Contact Us menu at the right.
The more members participate, the more we will learn and be able to arrange for those programs and activities that are most desired.
Please fill in the survey soon and get it back to us so that we can report the results at the September meeting.

At 6:30 p.m. President Judy Baker called the meeting to order at the annual potluck dinner at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
After dinner the meeting was again called to order for nomination and election of officers to serve in fiscal year 2007-2008. The Nominating Committee presented a list of names for the offices of President, Vice President and Secretary, read by Gretchen Bencene. The committee had been unable to find a candidate for the position of Treasurer. Nominations included Carolyn Madsen and Brandi Dayton as co-presidents; Anna Tewes as Vice President, and Jasmine Nahoniak as Secretary.
The President then asked for nominations from the floor, and stressed the need for someone to fill the Treasurer’s position. No nominations were submitted. The President then asked for a motion to approve the recommendations of the Nominating Committee. Betty McCrackin so moved and Peggy Sharrow seconded. The motion was passed.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:45 p.m.

The Albany Arts Commission invites artists to participate in an Artists’ Demonstration Area Friday, August 24 to Sunday, August 26 during the Arts and Air Festival in Albany. Artists may work and/or offer simple art projects for attendees. If Guild members are interested or would like to work as a group project, call Theresa Johnson at 541-917-7767.

The Art Guild Board of Directors voted at their May meeting not to assist in funding the bus trip to the Portland Art Museum to see the “Rembrandt and the Golden Age of Dutch Art” exhibit. Judy Findley is looking for alternative sources to help fund the trip for the 38 people who signed up at the May 7 meeting.

Congratulations to associate members Jake Dorr, Connie Valesano, Joey Azul and Mike Bergen who successfully completed the jury process on April 25 and are now exhibiting members with the right to show their work at our designated sites.

The 46th annual Clothesline Sale will be held on Saturday, August 4 on the Benton County Courthouse lawn from 9 am to 5 pm in honor of former colleague, Ken Stuart. All exhibiting members who have paid their annual dues and who have shown their work at a Guild-sponsored site between August 2006 and July 2007 are eligible to sell at this year’s event.
A reservation form was included in the June 2007 newsletter or you may request an e-mail copy from the Brush Strokes editor. Site preferences will be accommodated in the order that the forms are received. Bring your completed form to the July meeting or mail it to Molly Perry, 1405 Sherman Street, Albany, OR 97322.
Members can also volunteer to help with set up or take down or to cashier. We are hoping to get non-participants to be cashiers for two-hour shifts during the sale. Call Mary at 541-967-7279 or e-mail her at maryaucontary@comcast.net to sign up as a volunteer.

CAG juried members may participate in the da Vinci Days Art Village on Sat., July 21, from 10 am-6 pm and on Sun., July 22, from 11 am - 4 pm. Set-up time will be on Friday, July 20, before 4:30 pm. Cost for members to exhibit and other information will follow.
