Call to Artists – May 2012 Exhibit at The Arts Center

Call to Artists May exhibit The Arts Center
Where: The Arts Center, 700 SW Madison, Corvallis OR, 97333
When: Deadline, March 16, 2012 postmarked
The Arts Center Exhibition Committee is seeking proposals for a themed
group exhibition in May 2012 in the Main Gallery. The exhibit is
intended to be an excellent art exhibit with a theme that can be
integrated in elementary school curriculum. The chosen theme is about
food, agriculture, nutrition, gardening, chickens and eggs, husbandry
and fishing, baking and cooking and culture and  ethnicity all coming
together in the title: “Fingerlicking Good, Art about Food.” We hope
to show artwork that has a connection with food, food production and
preparation in the widest sense.
We are interested in all media, both 2 and 3 dimensional. The
Exhibition Committee seeks a balanced exhibition program; in media as
painting, drawing, fiber, photography, print making, sculpture etc. It
is The Arts Center’s goal to show work by local artists and to
introduce work from artists of the larger Northwest area. Both
established and upcoming artists are encouraged to submit work.
The Arts Center is located in downtown Corvallis in a late 19th
century church building. The Gallery measures approx. 1200 sq feet,
with 150’ of linear wall space.  Images from the gallery are posted on
www.theartscenter.net under Exhibitions, Call to Artists.
Submissions are free of charge.
