Clint Brown, professor emeritus of art at Oregon State University, will speak about how an artist can develop and utilize creativity in their work at the April 1, 2013 meeting of the Corvallis Art Guild, at 7:00, in the meeting rooms of the First Presbyterian Church (8th and Monroe, Corvallis). He will talk about doing away with preconceptions so one can help develop creative conceptions, understanding what is true in general and then discovering what works for you, and how he takes the first steps, going from nothing to something.
Professor Brown has taught in the Art Department at OSU for thirty three years. His work has spanned a variety of media and been shown in galleries, museums, and other venues in the U,S. and U.K. He is the author of Drawing from Life, a college drawing textbook, ahd Artist to Artist: Inspiration and Advice from Atists Past and Present.
CAG meetings start at 7:00, with a brief business meeting and a short topic, followed by the main speaker. Meetings end at 8:30, with an opportunity for socializing at the end.
