How to become an Exhibiting Member
The Corvallis Art Guild exists to advance creative achievement, to provide educational opportunities and to exhibit fine art in our community. We evaluate submissions of original two- and three-dimensional visual artwork from Associate Member artists using our jury process, which assesses artworks on their use of design principles, technique, presentation (framing or other preparation for gallery showing) and originality. The jury process is FREE, and allows Associate Members to advance to Exhibiting Member status in the Guild.
Exhibiting Members may show their work at Hanging Around Town sites, participate in the Clothesline Sale of Art and other Guild shows, and submit work for publication in our BrushStrokes newsletter, and on our Facebook and Instagram feeds. (Please note: most Hanging Around Town (HAT) venues currently only have showing space for two-dimensional work.)
The Jurying process
Please submit .JPG photos of three pieces of your original work as they would appear to a gallery curator considering your work for exhibition.
Art should be framed or otherwise gallery-ready, labeled, and ready for presentation.
For each piece, please send a front view, side view and rear view so we may see the finishing of the sides and framing (for two-dimensional work). For unframed or three-dimensional work, please show what a gallery visitor would see, and what a curator would see when choosing how to hang or display your work.
Photos should be .JPG files, up to 1500 pixels on the longest side
Please email images to JuryChair@CorvallisArtguild.net.
Please allow at least three weeks to complete the jury process. Applicants will be notified of their jury status by email from the Jury Chair.
