Art as a practice is good for our bodies and souls, providing creative opportunities for artists and hopefully thoughtful moments for the audience. Without creative expression our modern, human world would crumble, so I strive to bring joy to others through my artistic endeavors.

I look to natural shapes as inspiration for my work, using wood, glass, stone and encaustic wax paint to interpret what my mind sees, often including multiple materials in one piece of art. My main focus now is working with encaustic wax paint, using the bright colors and textural qualities of the medium to enhance my work.

Whenever possible I try to include movement in my work in an effort to draw the viewer into the picture, hoping they will then question what they see. I have been an artist at heart for many years but retirement from the construction industry in 2017 has given me the freedom to focus on learning and practicing art as my way of life.
